Malware:
The remote desktop environments of all Clients are protected with industry leading software packages, and as such are centrally maintained by the Terminal Services Hosting data center staff and kept updated.  This is performed according to industry best practices.  This includes anti-virus and anti-spyware software.

Additionally, high end security hardware is also deployed at the datacenter level.

Do I need a High Speed Internet connection?
Not necessarily.  Individual users will find that they can work over even a dial-up line, as the only bandwidth requirement is for the mouse and keyboard information going up to the data center and the screen information coming back down.  Where there is a need to print locally or transfer files between the local environment and the data center environment then a higher speed connection is advised.

Why do you mean by the term "Remote"?
Despite the fact that you are using the familiar Windows desktop environment, you are not running on the local PC or on a device under your desk.  The whole environment is running on a server in the Terminal Services Hosting data center - which is in a secure remote location.

Can I still use my printer and access files on my memory stick?
Yes.  The Terminal Services Hosting environment allows you to print to a local printer, or to a network printer on your local area network.  You can also access your USB memory stick, or a local hard drive to work on specific files that you need offline.

Can I access my files from home, or from a friend's house or a cyber-cafe?
Yes.  If you have access to a high speed internet connection then you can access your environment from any PC and most Macs.

What happens if I lose power or my connection?
The session and all of your work/data will survive.

Is it secure when I connect?
Yes.  The data is encrypted.

Are other security methods supported?
Yes.  VPN is a frequent request, although this may require additional hardware at the Client's locations.  Further security can be quoted according to the specific needs of each Client.

Do I have to have a PC?
No.  You can use a PC, a laptop or Tablet PC, a Thin Client, a mobile Windows device or even a Macintosh.

Do I have to purchase any of the software that is being used?
Most Microsoft software can be rented on a monthly basis from a select group of authorized Microsoft Partners.  Some software from other software vendors can also be rented on a monthly basis.  Some has to be purchased by you.  You will be required to prove your ownership of software licenses that you already own before these are implemented in your remote environment.  New software license purchases can be made for you (if you do not want to do this yourself), with full payment made in advance, and the software will be registered in the name of your organization.  Credit cards are accepted for this.

When do I pay?
After the end of each month of service you will be informed how many users you had in your organization's environment, what software licenses they were subscribed to and what the total charge is for all of those services, in alignment with the terms of your agreement.

How do I pay?
Payment is preferred through use of a corporate credit card.  Visa, Mastercard and American Express (Amex) are all accepted.  Large corporate accounts can be set up with invoices and terms upon satisfactory completion and approval of a credit application.

Can just anyone set up a new user in my/our organization?
We recommend that you identify and clearly authorize a couple of responsible individuals that have the ability to do this.  You will have your own web portal access in order to manage these accounts.

Can I administrate the user accounts myself?
Yes.  This ability is available through a web interface in our private portal.

Is there a minimum contract period for Terminal Services Hosting?
12 months.  Many Clients request longer term contracts.

Is there minimum number of users?
Five users is the minimum where you need a custom application installed in your remote desktop environment.  Less users are possible where you do not need to use a custom application in your remote desktop environment.

Is there a maximum number of users?
No maximum.

Are there extra charges for clustering and other equivalent data/application redundancy requirements?
Yes.  These are additional requirements specific to the business needs of certain Clients and hence this is not priced into the base pricing model.  These Clients are given a quote specific to their needs.
