| Sizing Servers |
| When buying a server one of the
key things to bear in mind is how many people need to
use it. Estimate too many, thinking that you will grow
a lot, and you will significantly overspend on both the
hardware and software and not use it.
Estimate too few and you will only have to buy a
bigger one later, and then you will still have spent
more than you needed too, and you will have to spend
even more to make the upgrade/transfer and ensure a
decent use for the older one.
Let someone else do all of that and just pay for what
you need when you need it with Terminal Services
Hosting. |
We need a server, but can't afford to have an expert set
it up.
We need to store all of our documents and data centrally, to
make sure that our Customer data and internal financial data is
safe. We have enough money to buy the server hardware and
necessary software licenses, but we would have to have someone
install, and configure the server and then look after it on a
regular basis for us. This would bring the total cost to
more than we have in our budget. We also believe that we
would probably need other software for back ups and to protect
the PCs from viruses.
We need a server, but have no idea what specifications to
select.
There are so many options for each subsystem of a server, it
is difficult to know which ones to select for what we need.
If we choose the wrong ones then we might have wasted our money
and the server won't be suitable for what we need. We do
not want to pay extra to have someone work this out for us, as
we are on a tight budget and every penny counts.
We need a server, but have no idea how to manage backups
and anti-virus.
A server can centralize our data so that we can back it up
each night. But how do we set it up to do that? How
do we get, install and configure a corporate version of an
anti-virus package so that the server controls gets the updates
and pushes them out to all the PCs?
We need a server, cannot afford an IT person to do the
admin, but we also cannot affords to have the server go down.
We need a server, it is critical to moving our business
forward to the next level, but we do not have a lot of excess
cash flow to pay for an IT person or an outside company.
None of this is unusual for small and medium sized growing
companies. This is why we provide Terminal Services
Hosting to companies that need corporate desktop
services. The Remote Desktop environment provides all of
the server capabilities and all of the desktop protection
running in a centralized location with helpdesk support.
Use what you need when you need it. Professionally managed
and billed monthly. You even get corporate level email and
calendaring, nightly backups and the ability to connect form
anywhere.

Need all of this AND the ability to run your own specific
applications on the remote server or remote desktop PCs?
